Frequently Asked Questions

Why convert WebP to JPG?

Some older applications, CMS platforms, and email clients don't support WebP. Converting to JPG ensures universal compatibility.

Will JPG quality be worse than the original WebP?

There will be a small additional quality loss since JPEG re-compresses the decoded WebP. At 85–90% quality this is barely perceptible. Setting quality to 100% minimises re-compression artefacts.

Is my file uploaded to a server?

No. Conversion happens entirely in your browser using the Canvas API. Your images never leave your device.

What if I want lossless output?

Use our WebP to PNG converter instead. PNG is lossless and will preserve every pixel from the WebP source without any additional compression artefacts.
